Why are my sprinklers turning on at random
A main reason why the sprinklers are coming on several times a day is that we sometimes forget that we added more start times during the hot summer. Another reason is that when we programmed the start times, we did so on a different program such as A, B, or C and we didn't check the other programs.
TOOLS THAT YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THIS JOB:
  --Round Point or Trenching Shovel
--Pipe Wrench or similar tool
--Riser Extractor
--New Sprinkler if needed
--Rag
1. Go to your irrigation controller and turn the dial to “Start Times”.
2. Look on the display panel and make sure that it reads “PGM A (program)”.
3. Push the “Next Button” to go through the start times.

Note: Usually each program has 3 start times.
4. Make sure that the start times are set to meet your needs.
5. If you want to adjust the start time, use your + or – button to increase or decrease the start time. If you want to turn off the start time use the + or – until you see it read OFF; between 11:59 pm and 12:00 am.

Note: Most irrigation timers have more than one program; most of them have 3 (A, B, and C).
6. Push the PGM (Program) button until it reads PGM B.
7. Follow steps 3 and 5.
8. Push the PGM (Program) button until it reads PGM C.
9. Follow steps 3 and 5.
10. If you are done programming the start times turn your dial back to RUN.

Note: Make sure that you don’t overlap the start times; doing so is a common mistake. You might ask why there are more programs. The reason is that most homes and businesses have grass, shrubs, and annual color, and these different plant zones require different amounts of water. When programming, use the plant material that you irrigate more on program A (in most cases it is grass). Use program B for the second most watered plant material.Use the last one for custom plant material such as annual color, new sod, and new seed.
