How to determine my flow rate in gpm
TOOLS THAT YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THIS JOB:
--Five Gallon Bucket

--Faucet (with NO hose)
This is measured by gallons per minute:
1. Use a container that you know the water capacity. I like to use a 5-gallon bucket.
2. Turn on the water so the valve is open all the way. You will get the best results if you conduct this test at the point of connection. DO NOT USE A HOSE to conduct this test.
3. Record the time it takes (in seconds) to fill the five-gallon bucket to the 5-gallon mark.
4. Take 60 seconds and divide it by the time it took to fill the bucket.
5. Multiply it (use the answer you got on # 4) by 5 gallons.
6. The result is the flow rate in gallons per minute (GPM). (If you need to determine GPH multiply your GPM by 60).

Examples:

A 5-gallon bucket takes 20 seconds to fill.

60 ÷ 20 = 3

3 x 5 (gal) = 15 GPM or 900 GPH.

A 3-gallon bucket takes 25 seconds to fill.

60 ÷ 25 = 2.4

2.4 x 3 = 7.2 GPM or 432 GPH.
