  About Annual Blue Grass:
 

Annual Blue Grass is an annual weed and is found in most of the United States. Annual Blue Grass is also known as Annual Bluegrass. It is a light green in color so it is easy to tell apart from your regular grass. It forms a mat when allowed to mature with out mowing it. It will form seeds even when it is mowed extremely short. It thrives in cooler and frequently watered conditions. Its growing season is October through April. Usually when the season changes to summer you will see it go away leaving behind seeds for next season and a bare spot in the lawn.

 

How to control Annual Blue Grass:

  Annual Blue Grass can be controlled by spraying it with glyphosate based product. When using any Glyphosate products be very careful not to get it on plants that you want to keep. You will have to reseed the areas that were treated.
 

How to prevent Annual Blue Grass:

  You want to put down a pre-emergent down in August or September and then repeat it in the spring time.  Be sure to follow the manufactures recommendations on the label.
 

When using any chemical make sure you follow the manufactures directions specified on the product label.
